This is going very well. I like the idea of the photo-montage. I'm not sure if this has come from the teachers or is your idea. If it's your idea you should ask the teachers to show to others as I think is a very good way of showing both massing and hierarchy (much better than in plan only).
I also like your diagrams about symmetry cause you have seen sub-symetries within the plan and acknowledge that there is hierarchy within the symetry. As total symmetry can be a pain in the neck architects use non-symmetrical composition of symmetrical blocks in order to achieve balance.
William, you seem to have chosen the many typologies at the begin, and then selected from them different ones for the different assignements. Wouldn't have to be the same 5? Also, the massing and parti and subsequent analysis are done sometimes in the plan, sometimes in section, sometimes in both, and sometimes even in the perspective. I guess some consequence is needed here as well. I don't agree with the other comment that the plan is not concludent. Actually many of us have access to see the volumetry when going on the street and only few the plan, which shows the interior spatiality. Otherwise the analysises seem fine, but I'm wondering if no proper composition rules can be find where the pieces are missing.
I didn't mean always, only sometimes the plan does not represent well the concept of massing, specially the ground floor plan. Every project is different.

Well done so far.
Keep the good work.

DeleteThe combination of your images with the overlays are very easy to understand. I especially appreciate the consistency between the five examples.
